How it works

No barcodes. No database hunting. Just the meal.

Listening: a live waveform while you describe your meal A typed meal in the logging bar, ready to send A meal photo with a field for anything the camera can’t see Today’s meals, with the new meal working out its nutrition

Accuracy you can see

Every ingredient, out in the open.

Most apps hand you one number and hope. Know My Meals breaks each meal into its parts, with amounts, so you can see exactly where the calories come from, and fix what’s off.

  • Slide any amount, or jump to ½×, 1×, 1½× or 2×.
  • Add what it missed. Remove what you skipped.
  • Branded and restaurant food can be looked up on the web.
  • It learns from your recent meals, so “the usual” comes out right.

Your usuals, in two taps.

Most of us eat the same handful of breakfasts on rotation. Know My Meals suggests what you’re likely having right now, and any past meal is one search away. Adjust the portion, log it, and Undo is right there if you change your mind.

Coach

Ask about your food. Answers from your actual log.

The coach reads what you’ve really eaten, your targets and your details, then gives you a straight, specific answer. Not a lecture. Ask from the logging bar or the Coach tab.

Privacy

Your food log is nobody’s business. Including ours.

i.

No ads. No selling.

You pay for the app, so we never need to sell your data or show you ads. The app’s usage analytics never include what you eat, and you can turn them off. No trackers on this site.

ii.

The words, not the recording.

Voice becomes text and photos are read for the food. We keep the text and the nutrition, not the audio or the picture.

iii.

Asked first. Gone when you say.

The app asks before anything goes to an AI service. Download your data or delete your account from inside the app.

Questions

Good questions.

Anything else? Email us.

How accurate is it?
It’s an estimate, like every calorie tracker, including the ones with barcode databases. The difference is that Know My Meals shows how it got there: every ingredient, with an amount. The more you say (“a big bowl”, “cooked in butter”, “from Pret”), the closer it gets, and you can fix any line in seconds.
What can I log?
Anything you eat or drink: home cooking, restaurant meals, takeaways, snacks, drinks. Describe it, say it or photograph it. For branded and restaurant food it can look things up on the web.
How much does it cost?
Know My Meals is a paid subscription, monthly or yearly (yearly costs less per month). There’s no free trial and no ad-supported free tier, which is what lets us keep it ad-free and never sell your data. In the US it’s $11.99 a month or $71.99 a year. Prices are shown in the app before you pay, and you subscribe and cancel through Google Play or the App Store.
When can I get it?
It launches on Google Play for Android first. The iPhone version follows on the App Store.
Does it track workouts, steps or weight?
No. Know My Meals does one thing well: food. Tell it how active you are and it sets your targets around that. If your weight changes, update it and it offers new targets.
Is it medical or dietary advice?
No. It’s a tool for keeping track of what you eat. The targets are a general starting point for healthy adults. If you’re pregnant, have a medical condition or a history of disordered eating, talk to a doctor or registered dietitian before following any calorie target.
What happens to my data?
It’s used to run and improve the app, never for ads. What you log goes to AI services to work out nutrition and answer questions, only after you agree. You can download it or delete your account in the app. The privacy policy lists every service and what it sees.
